My weather stations for home - Why I spend time it a whole lot
April 23, 2011
I've for ages been a bit of a closet weather enthusiast. Ask me just what the weather's going to do, and I'd provide a 3-4 day forecast journey top of my head.

Well that got a tad embarrassing if your weather proved differently, and I've were forced to take some good-natured kidding. However, products have changed since I got my wireless weather stations for home! The bottom receiver sits on my desk, and i have access in no time to a choice of weather data, and that is measured right within my place rather than the general weather forecast with the area, and this has improved my forecast hit rate considerably.
Many of the info is designed for recording purposes only, and I am particularly serious about what the max/min temperatures accomplish, and the forecast icons supply a good indicator of the spot that the weather pattern is headed. Together with temperature, it also measures barometric pressure and humidity (indoor and out, including max/min).
Since we're within a fairly windy area, it'd also be interesting to discover what speed the wind gusts are getting nearly, so as soon while i can afford it I want to get a La Crosse professional weather station, that measures wind direction and wind chill factor, dew point, and rainfall. The pro weather stations for home can say the rainfall over Sixty minutes, 24 hours and total rainfall - equally well all data is usually uploaded into a PC so anybody can review the stats over a period. I remember how my father-in-law painstakingly familiar with record daily rainfall within the farm to a notebook and after that manually calculate weekly, monthly and annual rainfall. Could not imagine where I'd spare the time nowadays...
What's also neat about wireless weather stations is because they provide a lots of alarm settings, what kind can set to warn of stormy weather, high winds, critical temperatures etc., but I'll stop dreaming at the moment - hopefully I am able to get that pro weather station soon.
